Wesley at 7 Months

Wesley is wiggling his away around everywhere, not crawling yet - he tries though! We have upgraded his diapers and now have two boys in the same size! This boy is obsessed with paper - if he sees it, he's after it and attempting to eat it within seconds. He still smiles more than any baby I know...I think I'll keep him. ♥

Wesley at 6 Months

He's starting to sit up now, he will fall over - but we're working on it. He rolls all over to get to places as well. He takes food down like a champ - even greens. Oh, and he still smiles all. the. time.

Miles Goes to TK

And he's off! Not quiet old enough for Kindergarten yet, Miles gets to be in TK this year. I think it will be great for him to have this extra year to grow before going into K. He's so excited to use all of his "Miles from Tomorrowland" gear. (He loves the TV show.)

I can't get over how blessed I am to be this boy's mom.

First day of school

Mike was able to take him on his first day and they got a picture taken together in his new classroom. I'm really excited to see how he will grow and mature this year.

Wesley at 5 Months

This little stinker gives me a run for my money...if I was making money taking care of him. I mean, that smile...it's hard to even say he's "fussy" while looking at that face. We starting solid foods now, which is a month earlier than our other boys. Hoping this can keep him a little content since this chunker loves to eat!

Wesley at 4 Months

Sweet boy started rolling over (back to tummy) on June 10, and he's quite good at it now. I can't turn my back on him for too long or he'll roll out the door I'm sure. Loving his little personality and I love when he flashes his big smile.

Getting stronger with holding his head up.

Wesley at 3 Months

You can tell by his picture, he is a happy baby...when he wants to be. I keep telling people he is our fussiest baby out of the three, and nobody believes me because of that face. He's laughing now, and it's just the greatest. I don't know what it is about baby laughs--it's just awesome, especially the cackles. I make a fool out of myself often though when I try to get him to laugh and he looks at me like, "please stop." I won't. I love hearing it too much to give up that easy.  Daddy can really make him laugh, but that is a given.

Wesley at 2 Months

Time really is flying and I'm finally out of "recovery" from the c-section! I'm thrilled, and I don't literally feel like I'm going to bust a gut when I laugh. This wee one is already rolling from tummy to back and hold his head up high during tummy-time. He already has a sweet personality with his smiles.

We've Moved!

"What better time to move than with an infant", that's what I always say. Ha. Actually it was a really easy move. We basically moved a mile away (closer to church), a single story, ground level apartment. I am BEYOND thrilled that we are on one floor, no more hiking up 3 sets of stairs! We have a large contained patio with a green belt right outside, which is perfect for the boys.

More pictures will be posted later I'm sure.

But if anyone needs our new address, let me know.

Wesley at 1 Month

I feel like it was yesterday that we were taking him home from the hospital.  It's been a rough month being out of commission for 2 weeks from recovering from the c-section. It's been humbling to have Mike do a lot of work and have family and friends helping with a LOT! I'm very thankful for God's provision through everyone that has helped though.

Trenton Turns 2

This sweet boy turned 2, and don't let the picture fool you...he WAS a happy birthday boy! We are so thankful for the joy Trenton brings to our family. He is quite the character. He talks quite a bit now, and is starting to put together multiple word sentences. I can't wait to see how he will grow this next year. Thank you God for this sweet blessing in our lives.

Wesley Grey Elliott

Wesley Grey Elliott came into this world in an extraordinary way. Wesley was born on February 26, 2015 at 4:29PM via c-section. He weighed in at 8 lbs. 10 oz. (our biggest) and was 20.75 in. long. He was also 11 days past the estimated due date. I was totally off by thinking he was going to come early!

At my checkup the Friday before (2/20), I was informed he was in a very odd position. While most baby's drop head first, chin tucked to the chest, my sweet son decided to have his head extended and be in "face/forehead presentation". This is rare; my doctor had only seen this once, 10 years ago. During that appointment she informed me that with this position I was high-risk c-section. They would still go ahead and try and deliver normally, but if he didn't change positions that they would have to do a c-section. (This would be my first c-section.)

At 7AM on Feb. 26, I went into the hospital to get induced and hope that during labor he would tuck his chin. From about 7:30-3:30, I was hooked up to an epidural and in labor and not only was he not tucking his chin, he was not dropping, but going higher! He was not coming out. My doctor came in to prepare us for what we might expect in a "face presentation" baby (swollen/bruised face), but that it would look better in a few days. We were just thrilled to be meeting our son in just a short while.

They prepped me for surgery and my husband got all hot in his disposable scrubs. Hubba-hubba! I got to look awesome in my blue bonnet as well.

I went into the OR to get prepped and Mike waited outside until they were ready to start. A few things to make it more eventful, I shook the whole time because of the reaction to the medicine they used (a pretty common reaction they said), which made me feel like I was freezing, even though my body temp. was normal. They did put a warm blanket over my arms an chest to make me feel more comfortable and it totally did! Also, the extra epidural they were putting in was not numbing me. "Can you feel this?" As they sharply poked, "Yes, it hurts alot." more epidural....they test again, "Yes, I can still feel that, it hurts a lot." I was actually terrified at this point that this is what the surgery would feel like - that I would actually feel it! I was relieved when the anesthesiologist said "It's not working and they put a spinal black in. Much better, didn't feel a thing - I didn't even know when they started. Thank you modern medicine. About 10 minutes later, they said alright here he comes, and the anesthesiologist, lifted my head over the curtain to see my baby being born. I honestly didn't see anything else but my sweet Wesley in that moment and then tears. It really didn't matter how he was born, it is amazing either way to see someone that you've loved for 9 months for the first time. Mike brought him over to me to see for a moment while they finished surgery, and then he was taken to the NICU.  He was absolutely beautiful and hardly any swelling. From being in his rare position, his nose was a little smooshed/swollen, so they wanted to make sure he was breathing okay.

I was finally reunited with Wesley at 7:30PM, and he was completely healthy. I am in love with this boy. I'm so thankful that God has given me this sweet blessing and taken me on this path. I remember saying either right before or right after surgery, "Now I get to experience both kinds of births." And I want to make sure that I can use this experience to glorify God.

40 Weeks

Well, here I am at 40 weeks, and no signs of labor. We're patiently waiting for Wesley. There will be no induction this week, and I'm content with that. However, I am hoping he'll come on his own soon, as he's taking a toll on my back (sciatic nerve). If he's a no-show by Friday, I have a Dr. appointment and we'll see what she has to say.
Thank you all for praying for us!

Baby Pool

→ Place Your Bet Here!

Now that I am full-term (37 weeks), Wesley could come at anytime, anywhere! I'm very excited to meet this boy. I'm doing well. I take long appropriate-length naps daily, and I deal with sciatic nerve pain like a pro (freezing for 30 seconds until my body lets me continue with what I was doing.) God knows what I can handle. He is good.

While waiting to meet Wesley, I've gotten many questions and comments ranging from:
• Does the doctor know if you will be on-time?
• Do you think he will be early?
• You look ready to pop!
• I bet he'll come early.
• He'll probably be late since your boys weren't early.

I've heard of baby pools before, and wondered if there was a website that did all that for you. (Let's be honest, there is usually a website for it if you're thinking about it.) And sure enough...there is. So, I thought I'd have some fun with all my friends and family who are thinking, guessing and wishing when baby will come, by creating my own game.

I think it's kind of funny when people "just knew" a baby would be born on their birthdate.
So, I will give people a chance to go on record with their guess with Wesley.
The winner gets that awesome feeling of being "right on."

Have fun!

Ring in the New Year

We celebrate our NYE with our church family at Compass...this year was a blast!  The theme this year was Star Wars and my husband is part of creating and putting together the entertainment for the evening. See below the video this year. (You can also click here to see last year's video.)

Just like everyone else, I'm excited for 2015 and what's to come.  I'm thrilled to set all sorts of goals that will end in breaking, meeting and even exceeding some. One I know I'm excited to do again, and to do well this year is the Daily Bible Reading (aka DBR). Each year, as a church, we read through the whole Bible in a year. It's a great plan, and even though we can all come up with an excuse "I didn't have time," it really won't work with me - not this time...it's 10 minutes out of 24 hours to set aside. Really, there is no excuse.

We are also very excited to welcome Wesley into our home.  I do have a couple of wishes for his arrival though. First, I'd like for him to stay put until at least Jan. 24 (full-term). Second, I'd like for him not to come on Jan. 30 (that is my brother's and my birthday, oh and my cousins as well...it's booked). Lastly, I'd prefer he not make an entrance on Feb. 14 (because that's reserved for Mike and I, and I'd like for that "Hallmark holiday" not to be overlooked). But those are just wishes, and I'm thrilled to meet little man whenever he decides to come.

So 2015...Let's do this!
Happy New Year!
